Not quite to Watson Lake!

We left Dease Lake, what there was of it, and headed for Watson Lake.

It was a bit chilly as we started out and pretty much stayed that way until we got to just before Watson Lake.
The roads were a bit crazy with lots of gravel, lots of potholes, lots of bumps, but no rain!
This moose (you have to look closely) decided to cross in front of us.  Damn they're big!
We got to see a bear, a fox and lots of rabbits!

We took the advice of the group we spoke with this morning and stopped at Nugget City for lunch.   It was such a lovely place with great food, nice cabins and friendly folks and we decided to stay.
Great choice because as it turned out, the road to Watson Lake was mostly gravel for about                40 km...we're cool like that this week....all metric baby!

We were able to stay in a lovely cabin in the woods.   The restaurant is great, the other guests were all lovely and had great info for our travels up through the Yukon and Alaska.   That's one of the best parts of traveling by vehicle...you get to meet the nicest folks from everywhere!

We're off to Whitehorse, Yukon tomorrow.

Dis is Dease Lake, BC

We made it to Dease Lake.

The ride was beautiful...I know I keep saying that, but each time we come around a curve, the views are breathtaking.   Each one more amazing than the last.

It was an interesting ride.  The weather most definitely helped with some sun and mild temps .
We stopped for lunch at Bell2.  The only spot on the way to Dease Lake was Bell2.  We got gas...they only had regular.  :-( and had a yummy lunch.

We headed North and came across some crazy roads and beautiful scenery.

Dease Lake had a Hotel, a restaurant, a market, a gas station and a bunch of dilapidated houses.

As we were leaving Dease Lake, we met a group of BMW riders from Colorado who suggested that we eat at a place just before we get to Dawson City.    We took their suggestion!
